Risk Management Plan
As part of reducing the risk of Legionnaires disease it is recommended that every Cooling Tower System have a Risk Management Plan (RMP) which outlines the risks associated with its operation. RMPs are mandatory in Victoria and New South Wales.
Hydro Flow provides this service in a comprehensive and detailed document involving;
- Onsite assessment of the cooling tower, system pipework and components, and water treatment program.
- Liaising with the Customer to determine operational and structural information of the system.

- Stagnant Water
Involves the identification of dead legs; sections of pipework that have minimal to no water circulation, and plant operating intermittently/seasonally. - Nutrient Growth
Addresses contamination sources to the system and how to manage them. - Poor Water Quality
Investigates the water treatment program and its effectiveness in providing microbial control. - Deficiencies in the Cooling Tower System
Looks at the age and condition of the system components, in particular the drift eliminators and their compliance with current standards. - Location and Access
Assesses the nature of the surrounding population with emphasis on health and aged care facilities. Access to cooling tower components for cleaning and maintenance is also assessed.
